Sea sponges grow naturally under the sea and are a renewable resource. Once harvested they will grow back again.
They are used for bathing with as they are highly absorbent, create a luxurious lather, are softly textured, and are suitable for the most sensitive of skin. Natural sponges are more durable and last longer than synthetic sponges.
Synthetic sponges will only last a very short time before they start falling apart and getting covered with mildew and bacteria.
